In the census of 5 April 1891 in Back of 66 Cleethorpes Road, Grimsby, Lincolnshire, he was listed as the son of William Savage.5

James Savage was the informant on the death certificate of William Savage who died on 26 January 1923 in 100 Scartho Road, Hospital, Grimsby, Lincolnshire; residence 60 Fairmont Road, Grimsby, formerly a night watchman (public works).2,17,18 His address given on his fathers death certificate.19,17 James Savage was employed by employed as a Progress Clerk with the Chesterfield Tube Company, was previously employed with the Pearl Assurance Company in 1937 in Chesterfield, Derbyshire.2,20 James died at Easter on 18 March 1945 in 84 Dukes Drive, Newbold, Chesterfield, Derbyshire, at age 67.2,21,22

Garness age 31, Fred W. child age 5, and Ivy J. age 2, departing from the port of Boston, MA, USA on the SS Ivernia, Cunard Line arriving on the 2nd of February 1913 at the Port of Liverpool on route to their home town of Great Grimsby, Lincolnshire.17 After returning from Boston Mass. to Grimsby he informed the Savage family that Rose his wife had died and was buried in Boston that year.18
Frederick died on 25 March 1935 in 89 Rutland Sreet, Grimsby, Lincolnshire, at the age of 53; name registered under GARNISS.18,19,4 Frederick was buried on 30 March 1935 in Scartho Cemetery, Grimsby, Lincolnshire, at the age of 53; in Section 104, Row F, number 26
