John SOUTHGATE was born in 1887 in Rattlesden, Suffolk.1 He was the son of Arthur SOUTHGATE and Jane BOWERS.1 In the census of 5 April 1891 in Clopton Green, Hall Cottages, Rattlesden, Suffolk, he was listed as aged 4 born in Rattlesden, the son of Arthur SOUTHGATE.1
