Research Note: Originally it was thought that Jemima was Jemima BARNFATHER, born 1866, who married William SHARP, and had two daughters Amelia, and Ethel Mord SHARP. William died, and she remarried Lewis FRANCIS in 1907. He also died. She was listed in the 1911 census living in West Hartlepool with her youngest daughter Ethel. Subsequently this cannot be the Jemima that married George Stratford CANNING.6,7

The entry in the parish record shows the incorrect name, and occupation, of his father - possibly an error of the Curate.1,5
