Obituary for Marty Ross Henderson
Marty Ross Henderson, of Waverly, died on Wednesday, October 5, 2005 at Midland Hospice House, in Topeka, at the age of 49.
He was born on May 15, 1956, in Eureka, the son of Lonnie and Rosaline (Boone) Henderson. He was raised in the Neal area and attended both Neal and Eureka schools. He graduated from Eureka High School with the class of 1974. After schooling, he worked as a heavy equipment operator in Wichita. He moved to Waverly in the late 1970’s, where he worked as foreman for Hunt-Martin Marietta Materials, Inc.
On February 3, 1999, he was united in marriage to Janet Foster in Eureka. They made their home in Waverly.
He was a member of the Neal United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Janet; parents, Lonnie and Rosaline Henderson of Eureka; daughters, Tara Nicole Henderson and Rebecca Rose Henderson of Waverly; one brother, Kent A. Henderson of Burlington; one sister, Rebecca Lindamood of Virgil; three nephews, Matt and Diltz Lindamood, and Ross Henderson; and 2 nieces, Julie Lindamood and Hanna Henderson. He was preceded in death by one brother, Terry.
Services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Saturday, October 8, 2005 at Koup Family Funeral Home, Eureka with Pastor Mark Demas of the Neal United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will follow in Neal Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Marty’s Girls Education Fund or to the Midland Hospice House. Contributions may be sent in care of the funeral home at P.O. Box 595, Eureka, KS 67045.²
