     Charles Bogg was baptised on 17 November 1839 in St. Michael on the Mount Church, Lincoln, Lincolnshire.1,2 He was the son of Thomas Bogg and Jane Hemsell.1
In the census of 7 June 1841 in Park Lane, St. Martin, Lincoln, Lincolnshire, he was listed as the son of Thomas Bogg.3
In the census of 30 March 1851 in 6 Hungate Court, Lincoln, Lincolnshire, he was listed as the son of Thomas Bogg.1
Charles married Rebecca Chambers, daughter of Robert Chambers, on 5 June 1859 in Wesley Chapel, Clasketgate, Lincoln, Lincolnshire.4,5,6
In the census of 7 April 1861 at 1 Orchard Cottages, Lincoln, Lincolnshire, Charles was listed as the Head of Household; a General Labourer, living with his wife Rebecca and daughter Ann.4
