Sarah married George PLAYLE, son of Francis PLAYLE and Elizabeth PASK, on 22 May 1824 in Ridgewell, Essex. The marriage was witnessed by William LAVER and Joseph TURNER.^1,3
In the census of 30 March 1851 in Drury Lane, Ridgewell, Essex, she was listed as a Straw Plaiter aged 48 born in Ridgewell, the wife of George PLAYLE (An Agricultural Labourer, living with his wife Sarah, and children Charles, and Ann aged 14.)²

Charles PLAYLE was born in 1832 in Ridgewell, Essex.² He was baptised on 18 November 1832 in Stambourne, Essex.¹ He was the son of George PLAYLE and Sarah LAVER.¹ In the census of 6 June 1841 in Ridgewell, Essex, he was listed as aged 9, assumed to be the grandson of Joseph & Elizabeth LAVER, also listed was his brother George, aged 11.³ In the census of 7 June 1841 he was a neighbour of his great-uncle Robert PARSK.⁴
Charles married Eliza HUMPHRY in 1851 in the Halstead registration district.^2,5 In the census of 30 March 1851 in Drury Lane, Ridgewell, Essex, he was listed as an Agricultural Labourer aged 18 born in Ridgewell, the son of George PLAYLE.⁶
In the census of 2 April 1871 in Ridgewell, Essex, Charles was listed as the Head of Household; An Agricultural Labourer, living with his wife Eliza, and children Sarah aged 16, James aged 15, Emily aged 9, Hannah aged 6, Harry aged 4, and Frederick aged 6 months, all born in Ridgewell.²
