At the time of his baptism, he lived with his parents Thomas and Jane in 7 Kings Court, Southwark, London.1 He was baptised on 14 April 1885 in St. Michael & All Angels, Southwark, London.1 In the census of 31 March 1901 in 94-95 Stanhope Buildings, Southwark, London, he was listed as a Labourer at the Varnish Works, aged 15 born in Southwark, the son of Thomas F. DEVITT.2
Walter married Florence Louisa MILBANK on 16 August 1908 in Christ Church, Southwark, London. He was a Bachelor aged 23, a Carman residing at 29 Price's Street. His father was listed as Thomas Frederick DEVIIT (Deceased), a Compositor. The marriage was witnessed by Joseph MILLBANK, and Caroline DEVITT [Groom's Sister].3,4 In the census of 2 April 1911 in 95 Stanhope Buildings, Southwark, London, he was listed as married 3 years with 2 children 1 living 1 dead, a Carman, aged 25 born in Kings Court, the son of Jane DEVITT.5
In the census of 2 April 1911 in 71 Stanhope Buildings, Red Cross Street, Southwark, London, Walter was aged 26 born in Southwark, the Head of Household; a Laundry Carman, living with his wife Florence, and their daughter Louise. Also listed was his mother-in-law Esther MILBANK.3

Jane married Thomas James HEATH on 25 December 1904 in St. George the Martyr Church, Southwark, London. She was a Spinster aged 21, residing at 176 ? Block Queens Buildings. Her father was listed as Thomas Frederick DEVITT, a Compositor. The marriage was witnessed by Thomas DEVITT, and Seline MacDougal.2,3,4

     Albert DEVITT was born in 1887 in Southwark, London.1 He was the son of Thomas Frederick DEVITT and Jane Wells GARRETT.1 In the census of 31 March 1901 in 94-95 Stanhope Buildings, Southwark, London, he was listed as aged 14 born in Southwark, the son of Thomas F. DEVITT.1
Albert married Henrietta Angelina WOOD on 3 June 1906 in St. James' Church, Clerkenwell, London. He was a Bachelor aged 19, a Carman residing at 10 Sans Walk. His father was listed as Thomas LEVITT (Deceased), a Compositor. The marriage was witnessed by James AVERY, and Anglenise WOOD.2 In the census of 2 April 1911 in 95 Stanhope Buildings, Southwark, London, he was listed as a Carman, married 4 years with 3 children all living, aged 24 born in Kings Court, the son of Jane DEVITT.3
Albert died in 1948 in the Finsbury registration district.4
His wife, Henrietta, died in 1958 in the Shoreditch registration district.5

Research Note: They had three children between 1906 and 1911, however they cannot be found in the 1911 census.
