     Arthur George Walter Stokes was born on 26 July 1907 in Grimsby, Lincolnshire.1,2,3 He was the son of Arthur John Stokes and Eliza Savage.1 He was baptised on 15 August 1907 in St. Luke's Church, Grimsby, Lincolnshire.1
In the census of 2 April 1911 in 1 King Edward Street, Grimsby, Lincolnshire, he was listed as aged 3 born in Grimsby, the son of Arthur John Stokes.2
Arthur married Ada Annie Snell in 1929 in the Grimsby registration district.4
On 29 September 1939, in the 1939 National Register, Arthur and his wife Ada, were listed as living in 32 Harold Street, Grimsby, Lincolnshire. He was born on 26 July 1907, and his occupation was a Painter & Scaffolder Heavy Worker. They were living with their two children Walter A., and Jean. Also listed was a redacted entry - assumed to be their daughter Brenda. Also listed was Arthur's father Arthur, and Hannah M. Glentworth, and Doris Glentworth.5
Arthur died in 1979 in the Grimsby registration district.3
His wife's, Ada, death was registered in 1992 in the Grimsby registration district.6
