     William Sunley was born on 7 August 1890 in the Kingston upon Hull, Yorkshire.2,3 He was the son of George John Sunley and Rose Hannah Walker.1 In the census of 5 April 1891 in Kingston upon Hull, Yorkshire, he was listed as the son of George John Sunley.4 In the census of 31 March 1901 in Grimsby, Lincolnshire, he was listed as the son of George John Sunley.5 He joined the Royal Navy as a boy entrant on 12 September 1907, at Harwich, Sussex.2 William married Jane Savage, daughter of William Savage and Fanny Ann Peck, on 23 January 1915 in Grimsby, Lincolnshire.1,2,6,7,8 William was killed in action on 10 June 1918, serving in World War I, at Whitby, Yorkshire, at the age of 27; He died in an explosion, along with two Naval Gunners, when the "Q" ship "HMS Low Tyne" was 3.5 miles off the shore of Whitby and was torpedoed by UBoat UB 34, and sunk at 9.05pm.1,9,2 He and John Edward HUYTON (2099) served together on HMS Lowtyne and were both killed in the same explosion, a third Naval Gunner was reported to have been killed in the same explosion, however to date it has not been possible to establish his identity.10,2 William was buried on 14 June 1918 in Grimsby, Lincolnshire, at the age of 27.1,9

     John William Sunley was born on 17 December 1882 in Barton upon Humber, Lincolnshire.1,4,5,3 He was the son of George John Sunley and Rose Hannah Walker.1,3 In the census of 5 April 1891 in Kingston upon Hull, Yorkshire, he was listed as the son of George John Sunley.6 In the census of 31 March 1901 in Grimsby, Lincolnshire, he was listed as the son of George John Sunley.7 John married Florence Edith Barber, daughter of Samuel John Barber and Edith Barber, on 16 February 1907 in Grimsby, Lincolnshire; her sister Ethel Blanche Barber a witness.1,8,9 Listed as a Twine Spinner.10 60129 Pte. J. Sunley M.G.Corp, he was awarded the Military Medal, reported in the Supplement to the London Gazette.
Address 62 Buller Street Grimsby, however in a Grimsby Newspaper cutting published after his brothers death on 10th June 1918, he was recorded as being a prisoner of war.11,12 John William Sunley witnessed the marriage of William Herbert Sutherland and Edith Elizabeth Sunley on 16 February 1932 in Grimsby, Lincolnshire.1,13 John died in 1962 in Grimsby, Lincolnshire.14

He is commemorated on the panel for the missing at the Loos-en-Gohelle, Dud Corner Cemetery, Par-de-Calais, France.3
