Sydney married Mabel Annie BRADLEY in 1929 in the Stow registration district.1,4,5 In celebration of their golden wedding anniversary their photograph was in the local newspaper. The article read:
"Love first bloomed at flower show
A mutual interest in horticulture sowed the seeds for a lifetime of romance for Mr Sidney Simpson, and his wife, Mabel, who celebrate their golden wedding today.
The couple who live at 45 Steeles Road, Woolpit, met at woolpit flower show in 1925. They were married four years later at the parish church.
Sidney (74) and Mabel (73), have lived in the village for most of their married life and before his retirement, he worked at St Edmunds bacon factory at Elmswell. The couple have three children, four grandchildren and four great grandchildren. They held their anniversary celebrations two weeks ago to coincide with a granddaughters visit from America.
These days the Simpsons still take an active interest in gardening. She likes to potter about in the garden at home while he tends an allotment.6"
His wife, Mabel, died on 3 July 1980.1
Sydney died in 12 July 1984 in the Bury St. Edmunds registration district aged 79.7,1 Sydney was buried in St. Mary's, Woolpit, Suffolk.1

Mabel married Sydney Joseph John SIMPSON, son of John SIMPSON and Ruth Minnie PASK, in 1929 in the Stow registration district.1,2,3 In celebration of their golden wedding anniversary their photograph was in the local newspaper. The article read:

Winifred Daisy was also known as Daisy SIMPSON.
Winifred Daisy SIMPSON was born on 29 December 1908 in 3 Kiln Row, Woolpit, Suffolk.2,3,1 She was the daughter of John SIMPSON and Ruth Minnie PASK.1,2
A christening gown was made from Ruth Minnie PASK's wedding dress by her daughter Daisy. It was first used for the christening of Ruth's granddaughter Sheila Margaret Simpson. It was also used, over 70 years later, for the christening of Ruth's great-great-great grandson Elisha Daniel Karg.4 Winifred died on 2 July 1995, at the age of 86, and her death was registered in the Bury St. Edmunds registration district.2,5,6 Winifred was buried in St. Mary's, Woolpit, Suffolk.2
