     Edward ELY was baptised on 14 April 1833 in Cowlinge, Suffolk.1,2 He was the son of Richard ELY.1
Edward married Sarah HEWIN. They had three children.1 Edward was a Gardener.3,4 As of 1887, Edward ELY lived at 83 Heneage Street, Weelesby, Grimsby, Lincolnshire. Edward married Mary Jane PARISH on 12 July 1887 in St. Michael and All Angels, Stoke Newington Common, Hackney, London. They had eight children.5 Edward ELY was the informant of the birth of his son Richard ELY on 25 October 1892 in 200 Willington Street, Grimsby, Lincolnshire.5,6 Edward died on 16 February 1907 in 195 Willingham Street, Grimsby, Lincolnshire, at age 73. His son Edwin, who resided at 104 Welholme Road Grismby, was the informant of his death.1,4 Edward was buried on 19 February 1907 in Scartho Road Cemetery, Grimsby, Lincolnshire.1
