Thomas PASK was born in 1820 in Upminster, Essex.1 He was the son of Thomas PASK.2,3 Thomas married Hannah PARISH on 25 December 1840 in The Parish Church, Upminster, Essex. The marriage was witnessed by Henry TAVERSON (curate) and Mary PASK. Thomas was a Cordwainer, aged 21 a bachelor residing at Upminster. His father was listed as Thomas Pask, a Farmer.2,4,5
In the census of 7 June 1841 in Cranham Road, Upminster, Essex, Thomas was listed as aged 20, the Head of Household; Thos [Thomas] Pask a Shoer [Shoemaker], assumed to be living with his wife Hannah.6
Thomas was in a photograph taken in 1850.7
In the census of 30 March 1851 in York Hill, Loughton, Essex, Thomas was listed as aged 31 born in Upminster Essex, the Head of Household; a Boot and Shoemaker, living with his wife Hannah, and children Thomas Henry, Emily, Sarah, George, John, and Hannah. Also living with them was a Lodger Walter Edwin SIMPSON from Little Harrowden.1
In the census of 7 April 1861 in Semilong, St. Sepulchre, Northampton, Northamptonshire, Thomas was listed as aged 41 born in Upminster Essex, the Head of Household; a Boot Closer, living with his wife Hannah, and children Emily, Sarah, John, Hannah, Elen [Ellen], and Henry T.8

Hannah PARISH was born in 1816 in Upminster, Essex.1 Hannah married Thomas PASK, son of Thomas PASK, on 25 December 1840 in The Parish Church, Upminster, Essex. The marriage was witnessed by Henry TAVERSON (curate) and Mary PASK. Hannah was a Servant, aged 25 a spinster residing at Upminster. His father was listed as Joseph Pask [Parish], a Labourer. The certificate erroneously shows the father's name as Pask.2,3,4

Thomas Harry PASK was born in 1841 in Upminster, Essex.1,3,4 He was the son of Thomas PASK and Hannah PARISH.1 In the census of 30 March 1851 in York Hill, Loughton, Essex, he was listed as aged 9 born in Upminster Essex, the son of Thomas PASK.1 In the census of 7 April 1861 in Colchester Infantry Barracks, St. Botolph, Colchester, Essex, he was listed as aged 19 born in Upminster, a Private at Colchester Infantry Barracks.5 Thomas married Elizabeth MALLARD on 26 June 1870 in Parish Church of St. Sepulture, Northampton, Northamptonshire. The marriage was witnessed by James ANDREWS, and Anne ANDREWS. He was a Shoemaker, a Bachelor of full age, residing at Upper Mounts Northampton. His father was listed as Thomas PASK, a Shoemaker.6,7,8,2,9
In the census of 2 April 1871 in 17 Upper Hendery Street, St. Andrew, Northampton, Northamptonshire, Thomas was listed as Thomas aged 29 born in Axminster [Upminster] Essex, the Head of Household; a Shoe Maker, living with his wife Elizabeth.10 At the time of his son's birth registration on 11 September 1874, he was listed as a Shoe Finisher, residing at 34 Regent Street, Northampton, Northamptonshire.11
In the census of 3 April 1881 in 39 Lower Harding Street, Northampton Priory St. Andrew, Northampton, Northamptonshire, Thomas was listed as "Elizth", aged 39 born in Upminster Essex, the Head of Household; a Boot Finisher & Shop Keeper, living with his wife Elizth [Elizabeth] and children Florence Emily, Maude Elizth, and Bertram L.4 He witnessed the marriage of Frederick BRYANT and Florence Emily PASK on 26 December 1907 in St. Sepulchre, Northampton, Northamptonshire.12,13
His wife, Elizabeth, died in January 1926 in the Northampton registration district.14,15
Thomas died on 16 June 1931 in 26 Adelaide Street, Northampton, Northamptonshire.16,17

Elizabeth MALLARD was born on 4 September 1851 in Ager's Court, Northampton, Northamptonshire. Her parents were James & Catherine Mallard née How. She probably lost her father in 1854, and her mother in 1856 when she was 5 years' old.3,2,4 Elizabeth married Thomas Henry PASK, son of Thomas PASK and Hannah PARISH, on 26 June 1870 in Parish Church of St. Sepulture, Northampton, Northamptonshire. The marriage was witnessed by James ANDREWS, and Anne ANDREWS. She was spinster, a minor, residing at Upper Mounts, Northampton. Her father was listed as James MOLLARD, a Bricklayer.5,6,7,1,8
In the census of 2 April 1871 in 17 Upper Hendery Street, St. Andrew, Northampton, Northamptonshire, she was listed as a Shoe Fitter, aged 19 born in Northampton, the wife of Thomas PASK (a Shoe Maker, living with his wife Elizabeth).9 Elizabeth was the informant of the registration of the birth of her son Bertram Lionel PASK who was born on 4 August 1874 at 34 Regent Street, Northampton, Northamptonshire. Bertram died at the age of 18 months.10,11 At the time of her son's birth registration on 11 September 1874, her husband Thomas was listed as a Shoe Finisher, residing at 34 Regent Street, Northampton, Northamptonshire.11 Elizabeth was the informant of the registration of the birth of her son Bertram Lionel PASK who was born on 14 June 1880 at 52 Lower Harding Street, Northampton, Northamptonshire.3,12,13
In the census of 3 April 1881 in 39 Lower Harding Street, Northampton Priory St. Andrew, Northampton, Northamptonshire, she was listed as aged 28 born in Blisworth, the wife of Thomas Henry PASK (a Boot Finisher & Shop Keeper, living with his wife Elizth [Elizabeth] and children Florence Emily, Maude Elizth, and Bertram L.).3
In the census of 2 April 1911 in 18 Victoria Street, Northampton, Northamptonshire, Elizabeth was listed as the Head of the Household. She was aged 58 born in Northampton, married 40 years having had 16 children, 5 still living and 11 dead; a Householder, living with her adult children Lilian Gertrude, and Bertram Lionel together with her son's wife [daughter-in-law] Elizabeth Pask, and grandchildren Agnes Mary, Bertram Lionel, and Frederick Henry. Also listed was a Lodger Arthur GARCIA. Her husband was not present, neither was her youngest daughter Ivy.14
Elizabeth died in January 1926 in the Northampton registration district aged 74.15,4

Bertram Lionel PASK was born on 14 June 1880 in 52 Lower Harding Street, Northampton, Northamptonshire.1,2,3 He was the son of Thomas Henry PASK and Elizabeth MALLARD.1 In the census of 3 April 1881 in 39 Lower Harding Street, Northampton Priory St. Andrew, Northampton, Northamptonshire, he was listed as aged 9 mths born in Northampton, the son of Thomas Henry PASK.1
Bertram married Elizabeth JOHNSON on 15 February 1906 in The Register Office, Northampton, Northamptonshire. He was a Bachelor aged 25, a Corporal in the 1st Northants Regiment, residing at 18 Victoria Street, Northampton. His father was listed as Thomas Henry Pask. The marriage was witnessed by Fred JOHNSON (father of the bride), and Mary Elizabeth KINGSBY.4,5,6,7 At the time of his son's birth registration on 22 December 1907, he was a Lt. Sergeant in the Command of the 1st Northamptonshire Regiment, serving in Jullunder, Punjab, India.8 In the census of 2 April 1911 in 18 Victoria Street, Northampton, Northamptonshire, he was listed as a Sergeant Infantry Soldier in the British Army, aged 30 born in Northampton, the son of Elizabeth PASK. Also listed was her wife Elizabeth, and children Agnes Mary, Bertram Lionel, and Frederick Henry.9
Bertram was killed in action on 16 September 1914, fighting in World War I at the age of 34.10 Bertram is commemorated in perpetuity in La Ferte-Sous-Jouarre Memorial, La Ferte-sous-Jouarre, Seine-et-Marne.10
Research Note: Reference to Bertram & his son was included on the website http://1914-1918.invisionzone.com/forums/lofiversion/index.php/t19696.html. The information came from the Northampton Independant, and reads "Serjeant BERTRAM LIONEL PASK
5115, 1st Bn., Northamptonshire Regiment who died on 16 September 1914. Remembered with honour LA FERTE-SOUS-JOUARRE MEMORIAL. He would never know his son Gordon Mons Aisne, named in memory of Captain ROBERT EDDINGTON GORDON 1st Bn., Northamptonshire Regiment who died age 37 on 15 September 1914. Son of George and Violette E. Gordon, of "Ellerslie", Gordon St., Toorak, Melbourne, Australia, and the battles in which his father had fought, and died."11,12 He Bertram was not found in the 1891 & 1901 census. He was possibly abroad with the Army.13
