James POWELL was born in 1791 in Newchurch, Monmouthshire.2
James married Mary PASK, daughter of Thomas PASK and Martha WILLIAMS, in 1816 in Llangwm, Monmouthshire.1
In the census of 6 June 1841 in Llangwm, Monmouthshire, James was listed as aged 45, the Head of Household; an Agricultural Labourer, assumed to be living with his wife Mary, and daughter Martha, and infant grandson Wm [William].3
In the census of 30 March 1851 in Llangwm, Monmouthshire, James was listed as aged 60 born in Newchurch, the Head of Household; an Agricultural Labourer, living with his wife Mary.2

Research Note: James & Mary POWELL were not found in the 1861 census.

Martha POWELL was born on 30 May 1818.1 She was the daughter of James POWELL and Mary PASK.1 Martha POWELL was baptised on 18 October 1818 in Ebenezer Independent, Trevethin, Monmouthshire.1 In the census of 6 June 1841 in Llangwm, Monmouthshire, she was listed as aged 20, in the household of James POWELL (assumed to be his daughter).2

Mary PASK née ? was born in 1766.1
In the census of 6 June 1841 in Llangwm, Monmouthshire, Mary was listed as aged 75 a Widow, the Head of Household living alone.1
Mary died in 1845 in the Chepstow registration district.2

Kate, and young son Thomas. Also listed was Amy BEEDEN (1827-1900), his aunt a widow aged 64 born in Coddenham.5
In the census of 31 March 1901 in Marlesford, Suffolk, Thomas was listed as aged 40 born in Marlesford, the Head of Household; a Carpenter & Builder, living with his wife Kate, and children Thomas, Ella, Harry, Frank A., Ivy P., and Eric G.6

Thomas BEEDEN was born in 1888 in Marlesford, Suffolk.1,2,3 He was the son of Thomas BEEDEN and Kate PASK.1 In the census of 5 April 1891 in "Main Road", Marlesford, Suffolk, he was listed as aged 2 born in Marlesford, the son of Thomas BEEDEN.1 In the census of 31 March 1901 in Marlesford, Suffolk, he was listed as aged 12 born in Marlesford, the son of Thomas BEEDEN.4 In the census of 2 April 1911 in 72 Downsell Road, Leyton, Essex, he was listed as an Engine Cleaner on the Railway, aged 22 born in Marlesford Sussex, the nephew (and future son-in-law) of Henry P. D. PASK.3
Thomas married his cousin, Matilda PASK, daughter of Henry Peachey Drake PASK and Mary Ann Matilda FISHER, on 26 December 1914 at the Parish Church of Holy Trinity, Harrow Green, Essex. He was a Fireman, a Bachelor aged 26, residing at 30 Westdown Road. His father was listed as Thomas Beeden, a Builder. The marriage was witnessed by her father Henry P. D. Pask, and their cousin William Alfred Coleman.5,6,7
