William married Sarah MICHAEL née ? on 31 December 1832 in Kilgwrrwg, Monmouthshire. The marriage was witnessed by John HOSKINS and Susanna PASK.6 In the census of 7 June 1841 in Newchurch, Monmouthshire, William was listed as aged 30, the Head of Household an Agricultural Labourer, assumed to be living with his wife Sarah, and son Zachariah. Also living with them was Rachel MICHAEL aged 14 a female servant.7 In the census of 30 March 1851 in Newchurch, Monmouthshire, William was listed as aged 41 born in Kilgwrrwg, the Head of Household a Labourer, living with his wife Sarah and son Zacharias.8 William was listed as deaf, aged 50 born in Kilgwrrwg, the Head of Household in the census of 7 April 1861 at Newchurch, Monmouthshire, a Labourer, living with his wife Sarah.5 His wife, Sarah, was buried on 19 February 1867 in Newchurch, Monmouthshire.9
In the census of 2 April 1871 in Newchurch, Monmouthshire, William was listed as aged 61 born in Killgwrrgg [Kilgwrrwg], the Head of Household; a Hoopshaver, a Widower living alone.10
In the census of 3 April 1881 in The Glyne Road, Newchurch, Monmouthshire, William was listed as aged 70 born in Kilgwrrwg, the Head of Household; a General Labourer, a Widower living alone.4
William died in 1885 in the Chepstow registration district.11
