John's death was registered in 1851 in the Sleaford registration district.⁷ John was buried on 19 November 1851 in St. Andrew, Timberland, Lincolnshire, at the age of 75.⁸

In the census of 7 April 1861 in Blankney, Lincolnshire, Susannah was listed as a widow aged 64 born in Hagworthingham, Lincolnshire, the Head of Household; a Widow a Cottager Labourer, living with two lodgers John HELPERINGHAM, an Agricultural Labourer aged 60 born in Hagworthingham, Lincolnshire [probably her brother], and Edward PAST [Edward PASK], an Agricultural Labourer aged 26 born in Timberland [her son].⁹
In the census of 2 April 1871 Susan was listed as aged 77 born in Blankney, the Head of Household; a Widower, a Cottager of 7 Acres, living with her son Edward and his wife Eliza, and their children John, Joseph, Hannah, and Mary J.¹⁰
