In the census of 31 March 1901 in Walton Cottages, 3 Tile Kiln Lane, Southgate, Edmonton, Middlesex, he was listed as "Charlie", a Cable Layer (Civil Service) aged 21 born in Wood Green, the son of Henry CALLOW.1
In the census of 2 April 1911 in 103 Cheddington Road, Edmonton, Middlesex, he was listed as a Telephone Cable Layer, aged 32 born in Wood Green, the brother-in-law of William CUTHBERT.5
