Charles's death was registered in 1876 in the Hull registration district.^1,7

Research Note: Margaret wrote: "Although he had a first marriage I haven't found out who he married but his second marriage in 1870 produced my grandmother. He was a Carver and Guilder by this time with his own business in Hull but died in 1876 and from what I can gather his money was spent by a relative and his wife and my gran and her sister ended up in the Anlaby Road Workhouse where his wife soon died...."⁸
