George Clement Pask
(1914-1973)
     George C. PASK was born on 31 May 1914, in the Wandsworth registration district.2,1 He was the son of George PASK and Ruth ARGENT.2,3
George married Emily Elizabeth BAKER in 1935 in the Wandsworth registration district.4,5 George served in World War II he was called up early for WW2 (he may have been in the TA before the war) and was captured in Singapore when it fell to the Japanese. He survived working on the Burma-Siam railway as a Prisoner of War, but it was only when he was on the boat home after he had been liberated that he learnt of the death of his wife.6
His wife, Emily, died in 1941 in the Maldon registration district.7
George married Joan BEADELL in 1947 in the Maldon registration district.8,9
His wife, Joan, died in 1957 in the Chelmsford registration district.10
George died of a brain haemorrhage in 1973 in the Chelmsford registration district.1 His granddaughter Kate wrote "I remember him as being a cheerful and jolly grandad. I have his army pay book dating from his time as a POW, it is in poor condition but still legible, it has notes of how to pronounce numbers in Japanese written on it."6
