Also living with them was Joseph OATES, a nephew.¹¹ In 1915, at the time of the death of their son George Albert in World War I in Greece, Arthur PASK and Christiana PASK lived at 1 Hall Street, Windsor Bridge, Salford, Lancashire.¹²

Edward John HILL was born in 1879 in Merthyr Tydfil, Glamorgan.¹ Edward was born and grew up in Merthyr, his father was a tailor, and Edward was to become a grocer. In the 1901 census he is described as a grocer's assistant at Abersychan, a village about 15 miles away from Merthyr, on the northern edge of Pontypool.¹
Edward married Emma PASKE, daughter of Zachariah PASKE and Phoebe JENKINS, on 25 July 1904 in Baptist Church, Merthyr Tydfil, Glamorgan. It may well be that the wedding was from Edward's family home at Merthyr, as both his parents, Robert and Jane were still alive.^2,3,4 Edward was found drowned in Kenfig Sands, Glamorgan.¹ Clive wrote: "At the time of my father's birth (1909) Edward was a grocer at Ebbw Vale, and and the family home was in the village of Cwm.¹"

     Jacob PASK was baptised on 15 October 1837 in Wickhambrook, Suffolk.^1,3 He was the son of James PASK and Harriett FROST.^2,3 In the census of 7 June 1841 in Debmans Farm, Wickhambrook, Suffolk, he was assumed to be the son of James PASK.⁴ In the census of 30 March 1851 in Eastry Wood Road, Wickhambrook, Suffolk, he was listed as aged 13 born in Wickhambrook, assumed to be the son of James PASK.^5,6 In the census of 7 April 1861 in Eastry Wood Road, Wickhambrook, Suffolk, he was listed as a Labourer, unmarried aged 23 born in Wickhambrook, the son of James PASK.⁷

John married Sarah SHARP in 1866 in the Risbridge registration district.^7,8 In 1867, at the time of the birth of his daughter Sarah, John was a Farm Labourer and living in Wickhambrook, Suffolk.⁷ He was the informant of the birth of his daughter Sarah PASK on 12 March 1867 in Wickhambrook, Suffolk.⁷ His wife, Sarah, was buried on 22 March 1867 in All Saints, Wickhambrook, Suffolk.⁹ In the census of 3 April 1881 in Fornham All Saints, Suffolk, he was listed as "Peter" aged 37 born in Wickhambrook, a Boarder [Brother] of Jacob PASK.¹⁰ In the census of 5 April 1891 in Heath Farm Cottage, Fornham All Saints, Suffolk, he was listed as a General Labourer, the brother of Jacob PASK.¹¹ In the census of 31 March 1901 in 32 Westley Road, Fornham All Saints, Suffolk, he was listed as a widower aged 56 born in Wickhambrook, a Horsekeeper on the Farm, the brother of Jacob PASK.¹
John died in 1914 in the Bury St. Edmunds registration district.¹²

Research Note: In the 1881 Census John is referred to as Peter. However this is believed to be an error, as there is no birth, marriage, or death found for a Peter of this time. Additionally, in subsequent censuses he is still living with his brother, at the same address, and listed as John. In the GRO indexes, he is referred to a John.¹³

Charles PASK was born on 2 September 1851 in the New House, Cwmcarvan, Monmouthshire.^2,3,1,4 He was the son of Thomas PASK and Amelia RICHARDS.¹ Charles PASKE was baptised on 4 September 1851 in Cwmcarvan, Monmouthshire.⁴ In the census of 7 April 1861 in Joyford Hill, West Dean, Gloucestershire, he was listed as aged 9 born in Cwmcarvan Monmouthshire, the son of Thomas PASK.⁵ In the census of 2 April 1871 in Mitchel Troy, Monmouthshire, he was listed as aged 9 born in Cwmcarvan Monmouthshire, the son of Thomas PASK.⁶ Charles was named as a beneficiary in his uncle William PASKE's will made on 8 May 1883.⁷ William PASKE's estate was probated to Charles PASK on 20 August 1890 in Llandaff, Glamorgan.^8,7

Robert was killed in action on 4 April 1916, fighting in World War I in Netley, Hampshire, at the age of 21.^7,2 Robert is commemorated in perpetuity in N.354, Netley Military Cemetery, Netley, Hampshire; Netley Military Cemetery is a permanent military cemetery, the property of the Ministry of Defence. The cemetery was at the back of the Royal Victoria Military Hospital and was used during both wars for burials from the hospital. The cemetery contains 636 First World War burials.²
