William married Charlotte WHITLAM in 1873 in the Barnsley registration district.4,5 William was listed as aged 31, born Bishop Norton, the Head of Household in the census of 3 April 1881 at Wombwell, Yorkshire, a Coal Miner, living with his wife Charlotte and children Harry, Clara, and Horatio.6

The clerk read a letter from the Poor Law Board forwarding a copy of a letter from the Rev. E. Hawke complaining of the conduct of Mr Johnson, the guardian for Kexby and Surveyor of the Highways with reference to two men Pask & Dowman who had been turned off the roads in that parish on account of the relief previously given by the Board having been discontinued. [Page 397]"9 Joseph was detailed in the minutes taken from Gainsborough Workhouse "25 January 1868 Out relief given to PASK Joseph, Kexby."8
