Jane married Walter PASK, son of Henry PASK and Mary Ann RUDDOCK, on 21 May 1898 in The Register Office, Gateshead, County Durham. She was a Spinster aged 20 years, residing at 44 Askew Road, Gateshead. Her father was listed as William White Chester (deceased), an Engine Driver. The marriage was witnessed by Frank PEETHAM, and Mary Jane REAY.1,5,6,4 Jane was the informant of the registration of the birth of her son Arthur PASK who was born on 1 August 1905 at 98 Dixon Street, Gateshead, County Durham.6,7,8
Her husband, Walter, died in 18 July 1908 in the St. George Hanover Square registration district. He was killed in a Railway accident; He was killed in a railway accident.6,9,3
After her husband Walter was killed in a railway accident in 1908, she was left with 4 children, the youngest George being only a few months old. With no means of support Jane gave the 2 middle boys, Arthur and Walter, to her mother-in-law Mary Ann. She kept Laura the eldest and the baby George. Her mother-in-law emigrated to Melbourne Australia on the "Wilcannia" departing from London on 18 September 1912, taking with her Arthur and Walter. Jane Ann wrote to her mother-in-law Mary Ann begging for Arthur and Walter to be returned to her as she was getting married again and her circumstances were much better. Evidently she was horrified that they were going to Australia and was allowed to see them only a few days before they left.6
